CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

Yes, indeed! Camp Solong is happening again, now for its fourth summer session – this year, in the rolling hills of the Swiss countryside, hosted by Country SALTS, for the weekend of August 28–31st 2020 (Friday 10 AM to Monday 10 AM)

.

Right NOW, Camp Solong is looking for six future campers to join our cathartic outdoor summer camp! This could be anyone (adult 25+) who would like to have an immersive and playful experience, or a unique, refreshing and releasing 3-day break from daily life.

Open call ends August 12th, 2020 at 23:59 pm.

The central theme for our camp program is the never-ending cycle of reality’s goodbyes, with a particular emphasis on digging ourselves out of soggy hinderings and stagnant thinkings. Prepare to let go of tired old ways and emerge into new, fluid vibrations.

Anyone interested in rehearsing and investigating the process of farewells, personal reset, and seriously playful introspection would be an ideal participant for Camp Solong.

Camp Solong will host 6 grown-ups along with the camp directors, Dafna Maimon and Ethan Hayes-Chute. There will be a 3-day program, built from the artists' respective performative practices, including fun, crafty-and-healing exercises. All campers will be provided with their own bunk complete with everything (including food) that they need for their stay, along with a camper uniform.

In acknowledgment of the precarity of all campers' healths (due to the current pandemic) Camp Solong is adapting its living quarters into specially constructed bunk-units that will house campers individually in the open air, at a safe social distance from one another.

Participation in the camp is free, but travel costs (to Basel) are left to the campers. The camp will be located in the Oberbaselbiet (Canton Basel-Landschaft) 30km outside of Basel. Applicants are asked to check possible travel restrictions before applying.

Camp Solong is a collaborative Gesamtkunstwerk; exploring alternative ways of living through play, fiction, self-sufficiency, and bonding with nature. Camp Solong breaks down the borders between experience, performance, and process, functioning as an experimental temporary micro-community.

If you would make a great camper, apply now!

Of course, feel free to get in touch directly,
and don't hesitate to forward our open call!
